About Kodak Max Versatility 400
This film may be found under a few different names: Gold 400, Gold Max 400, Max 400, and Max Versatility 400 all appear to be different namings of the same emulsion. This film has roots in the OG Kodak Gold family, but generally this is Kodak's 400 speed consumer level stock.
Max 400 was Kodak's drug store film, so it is quite versatile for most lighting conditions, but noticeably grainer and less forgiving in the exposure department. Reviews from the times this film was still in production often make note of the fairly accurate color production, while often complaining that it is less sharp and more grainy than some of its higher end siblings.
