About Kodak Tri-X 400
Kodak TRI-X 400, also know as 400TX, is by far one of the most legendary film stocks in existence. It is a 400 speed panchromatic black and white film, manufactured by Kodak. From its release in 1954, in both 35mm and 120 formats, TRI-X 400 has been a film stock of choice for many photographers, ranging from documentary to photojournalism. This is also a popular film stock for street photography.
TRI-X is a very user friendly film, and a great starting point for new and experienced photographers alike. It's super versatile for any type of photography, and shines in any lighting conditions. It's recommended when exposing this film, you meter for the mid tones or shadows. When this film is shot in high contrast lighting, you tend to get dark blacks, and bright whites. It also should be noted It has a great latitude and can be pushed up to 3 stops.
